Seeing as most of the RPing folks for Tumblr's MtG Askblogs (by which I mean you or most of you) are generally sane, grown adults with experience under your belts, this will all probably just be review of natural common-sense roleplay protocol for you, but for the sake of formality and those who may not be so well-versed in said protocol, we'll just quickly go over it.
We're not gonna be too hard on everyone's asses for this, but if these sorts of things do become a real, persisting problem, we will rethink these guidelines and the extent of their execution, and act accordingly.
1. When creating a new thread, please make sure it is in the proper Plane where your story is set (or at least, started - understandably, Planeswalker characters may end up world-jumping and at that point it will have to be decided whether the RPers in that thread want the whole thing moved or just want to create an extension thread in the destination Plane)
2. Be sure to label your threads for stuff like NSFW, private/1v1, etc. For everyone's convenience, you can use some of these abbreviations (or your own, if they get the point across better).
3. The usual common-sense stuff: No powerplaying, godmodding, puppeteering, cheatyfacing abilities into your profiles, etc. If it helps, I highly suggest cooperating and collaborating with your fellow RPers to plan out a light story framework for your RP, and especially work out battles (and any character development/plot that needs to occur during or otherwise relative to the conflict) beforehand. If cooperation does not work at that point, a d20 may just do the trick.
4. More like a friendly reminder than a guideline: Try not to take character interactions too personally. Do step into your character's shoes to get a feel for how they should react to situations, but keep yourself and your character separate in your mind as you do - this is key to being able to follow Number 3. Don't beat yourself too much if you do happen to slip though - it happens, especially when the action is getting good! Learn from your (and your character's) mistakes, and move along.
5. More to come if necessary!

- [PRI] - Private/Invite. 1v1 RPs fall under here, as well (be sure to list the invited characters/players in an easily visible place)
- [PUB] - Public (anyone can jump in, within reason in context of the plane)
- [UC], [U/C] - Under construction
- [CRK] - crack RP (general random silly shenanigans that may or may not have the characters actually "in character")
- [NSFW] - you guys can figure this out.
- [DRAW] - form of roleplay where your responses are drawn, typically in comic form, instead of written. It's not commonplace but it's been seen and done, and can be very fun when you have a lot of artists collaborating for one big webcomic-like RP!
- [DRB] - drabbles/shorts; not really "roleplay" but the option is there, in case you have one of those nights where you just want to scribble out a nice little something for your character or something.
- [FF] - fanfiction; again, not really roleplay but it's an option in case you get the inspiration.
- Got a suggestion? Post in this thread!
