Kyra was just out of hearing distance of her small trade village in Ulvenwald on the border of Wolf Run. There was silence and a peace she hadn't felt in years. Kyra felt the wind on her cheeks and suddenly footsteps. She turned her body slightly and was taken off guard by a lone wolf. He rubbed his beastly head against her hand and made a soft, loving whine sound. This was the second wolf she had come to love like this.
It made her miss home, wherever that was. There was another sound that made both Kyra and the wolf stand at attention, a twig breaking in the distance. The wolf named after Kyra's father, Arddan, growled deeply at something just beyond the trees.

Caladia heard the sound and was on the defensive at an instant. She raised her staff to illuminate her surroundings with a faint glow, admiring the fact that her battlegear gave her more flexibility than her usual Selesnyan dress. Her goal was on the other side of wherever the sound came from, and he prepared a spell to manipulate the woods nearby to defend herself as she walked past the treeline.

The wolf barked at the sudden presence and Kyra stepped forward, lifting her hand to separate the small trees before her, making the clearing larger. She heard the footsteps, breathing, and a human heartbeat. She could smell a flowery perfume and an otherworldly dust on this beings skin. She had smelled it before, but she couldn't quite remember where.
She spoke suddenly, her voice was strong and stable, "Didn't your mother teach you not to stare at cripples?" She raised her eyebrows, widening her pale, pupilless eyes.
