Ciela cast Caladia a withering glance. "I'm new here too, but I've been...studying this area. I like the forests, but I have more of an affinity for the water too, and the mountains. I'm just a human, though; not an elf. Kind of a wildcard when it comes to mana, I guess, heh." Ciela fidgeted, desperately hoping this conversation would be over soon.

Question had begun to lose interest in the conversation at least two sentences ago. After having drifted across the surroundings, his eyes focused on the construction that the human was working on.
"That is," he gasped, "Not mahogany." His expression suddenly changed into something that seemed like an weird hybrid of glee and disdain. Visible strings of mana appeared between his hands and rapidly formed a huge, glowing hammer. "Tick tock, goes the clock. Until I smash it!"

Ciela shot a counterspell at the little imp, flew up to her workstation and erected a thin dome of ice around her project.
"Tell you what Caladia, you help me defend my stuff and I'll show you around all you want!" Ciela shouted as she conjured a strong wind to knock the ouphe out of the trees.

She smiled to herself, finally having a chance to hit two birds with one stone. The vine weave she created earlier retreated into the tree it came from, now extending out now as a single vine, rapidly dashing towards Question to hold him still.

Question had far from expected this reaction. He was only trying to help the other planeswalkers by destroying the machine that was probably going to do lots of bad stuff some time pretty soon. Hostility was not a common reaction to helpfulness. But since that apparently was how it was going to happen this time, he decided he might as well just play along with it. Tracing the magical essence of the counterspell Ciela had just used, he summoned one himself, and combined it with the magical hammer he had used earlier. One swing from that hammer, and it would negate all magical effects on whatever he hit. Giggling with excitement over his newest weapon, he swung it at the vine.

Caladia recognized the magic, but couldn't react in time as the vine fell limp and her consciousness was jerked out of the tree. It was a waste of material, as she was taught in her woodshaping training. A waste that angered her. Caladia raised her staff and hammered it into the Earth, as green mana from the forest rose up in the form of vines once more, this time less tangible. Her actions were stern, but her voice was still soothing. "Be still, little creature."
