Skimming the Surface
Age: mid-20s (appearance) ~70 (chronologically)
Race: Elf
Gender: Female
Appearance: Average height, slight build - for most, she would be considered to be in good shape, but she is relatively unfit compared to others from her home. Delving Secrets
Home Plane: unknown - she would prefer not to mention
Mana Alignment: G, but as a pre-Mending walker has some minor experience in all five
Specialization: Landshaping, healing
Personality: Most people's first impressions of Antora are not overwhelmingly positive - she is often dismissive of people she does not know well. To those who have managed to get close to her, though, she is caring and helpful. She will not hesitate to take the lead of a group if she feels no one else is suited to the job, but this is more a reflection of the years she spent isolated from others than an overabundance of confidence.
Backstory: Antora Kural was born a few decades before the Multiverse-spanning catastrophe that would be later known as the Mending. The youngest of three sisters, she always felt like she had a lot to live up to. However, while her sisters were gifted athletes, Antora's talents had always been with magic. From her early days she had shown a peculiar aptitude for landshaping spells, attracting positive and negative attention from her family and the other elves of their settlement. Any kind of magic was relatively uncommon there, not to mention Antora's unique brand. She became somewhat of a pariah, which was especially harsh considering that her sisters were among the most well-respected trackers in the region. Her family was still accepting and loving, but because of the rest of the village, Antora grew cold and untrusting.
When she was old enough, she started taking jobs as a guide through their part of the forest, helping travelers with her intimate knowledge of the region, just as her sisters had done at that age. The assignments gave her an opportunity to spend time away from her village, as well as a chance to prove to the villagers that she was not some sort of aberration. Eventually, she began to make a name for herself, but even though the community began to warm to her, she still preferred her own company to theirs.
With increased status, however, came more dangerous assignments - at least for Antora. One guide assignment saw her customer assaulted by a group of bandits, killing him almost instantly. Antora quickly rewove the forest around her into a thick wall of brambles and tried to escape, but the bandits caught up with her and cornered her. Too exhausted and terrified to manage another landshaping spell, she screwed her eyes shut and surrendered to her fate.
But when she opened her eyes again, she found herself in a completely different forest - the weather was warmer, the air more humid, the colors more vibrant than her home, and there wasn't another person in sight. With equal parts awe and terror, she slowly realized she was far from her home. "At least I won't have to live in anyone's shadow here."
What she would find, though, is that she had planeswalked to a world where one has no choice but to live in the shadows of others - she had planeswalked to the primal world of Muraganda.
She stayed in Muraganda for several years, honing and developing her newfound abundance of magical ability. She was forced to leave when Muraganda was hit by the Mending. As she felt her power draining away, she jumped back into the Blind Eternities in search of a new home. The first plane she arrived on did not fare much better, and she faced her first true test as a planeswalker by aiding in the evacuation of a collapsing world. The event also introduced her to her first true friends, the other planeswalkers who were involved. Most of her other dealings with planeswalkers had been antagonistic, confirming her long-held beliefs that the only person she could trust was herself. But meeting the others, particularly Aidan, a flamekin, had helped her open up to the outside world just a little.
