Specialization: Using dark and demonic forces to fuel nature-manipulating spells to extreme levels.
Personality: Gadrick is very relaxed, and does his best to enjoy life to its fullest. More than anything, he loves the thrill of the hunt. He thinks that you should never do anything you're good at for free, which is why he has begun working as a bounty hunter. He never calls himself a bounty hunter, because he doesn't like the expression. He doesn't hunt bounty, he hunts people, artifacts and creatures. There is nothing Gadrick won't do as long as he gets a big enough reward to compensate for any danger connected to the mission.
Morals don't have a big place in Gadrick's heart. Although he used to be a cathar, he didn't do it to protect people, he did it because he enjoyed crushing fiends. He never was a man of white magic either, never quite mastering the art of cathar battle magic.
Backstory: A midsummer morning in Gavony, a son was born to the wealthy and powerful Borev family. The mother, Caila, named him after her grandfather, who had been a high-ranking man of faith. Gadrick Borev, son of Caila and Hansi, youngest of three, grew up to be a handsome young man. When he was 17, he met Gerda, a girl his age, from a poor family living in the slums of Thraben. They fell in love, and for a while, Gadrick was sure this was the woman he would marry and father the children of. His father however, did not think so. Hansi forbid Gadrick from seeing her, when he learned of their romance. He would not let his son be seen with a peasant. To keep him from meeting her in secrecy, Hansi signed Gadrick up for cathar training, claiming that it would be good for him to learn some honour and respect.
Being a cathar was not something Gadrick enjoyed. The training was alright, his problem was with the church. For all his life, Gadrick had cared little for the faith in Avacyn and the muttering priests, but now he had to deal with both daily. The magic of the cathars being based in faith didn't help much either. His lack of devotion made most of his attempts at casting holy spells fail. After just barely finishing his final tests, Gadrick was stationed in a village just outside of the Ulvenwald forest. During his time in this village, he learned about pagan gods, worshipped by some of the people living around Ulvenwald. The ancient pagan magic came much easier to him than the magic of the church had, and in short time, he was among the best of the runeweavers in the village.
