Specialization: Aeromancy, cryomancy, and a bit of artificing on the side. She can also transform into a small screech owl when the situation calls for it.
Ciela as a screech owl:

Her powers of aeromancy are by far her most advanced and honed ones. She can fly and summon powerful winds, but she's also capable of controlling the properties of gases around her. Using these powers, she can direct sound to or away from her, and can concentrate and move volumes of gases within other volumes for deadly or helpful effect. Her powers of cryomancy link into this since she can reduce the temperature of matter and liquefy gases.
Some of her cryomancy is somewhat related to her aeromancy skills, but some of it is powerful offensive spells. Volleys of ice shards, impalement via ice stalagmite, or blast freezing is usually enough to stop anyone in a fight.
Ciela is not much of a physical fighter; she's pretty much limited to trickery and hiding when she can't use magic. She can wield a bow decently.
Personality: A big dork. REALLY likes flying, games, and cool artifacts. She's the kind of person who gets WAY too excited about the things that interest her; get her started on a topic of interest to her and she will talk your ear off. She also gets pretty hellbent on research related to her interests. She's kind of a snarkball and will tell you to your face if she thinks you're being an idiot. She has major problems with authority and can be spiteful and vindictive. She's also spectatcularly terrible with interacting with people she has a crush on. If she's too freaked out to actually interact with someone, she'll be a creepy stalker screech owl instead.
Backstory: Ciela grew up in a small alpine village in Sejiri on Zendikar. There weren't many mages in the village, and those who were there were mostly focused on protecting the town and its people from the Roil. Most of the mages in the village are Red-aligned out of necessity in a place that's under several feet of snow for a lot of the year, and since they live so deep in the mountains, where there's an abundance of red mana. Ciela is certainly capable of red magic, but her talents and interests are far more blue-aligned. Her teachers recognized this, her fascination with flight, and its potential use as a way to escape the Roil, and thus fostered her interest in aeromancy as best they could.
Her planeswalker spark ignited when she was 15 from having a run-in with the Roil before she'd perfected flying via aeromancy. She ended up in the Blind Eternities and thought she was dead, but then came back to Zendikar, falling face-first into a snowdrift. There was a great panic in the village because of the Roil coming through and destroying a lot of stuff, but also because they thought Ciela had died. After she came back largely unscathed and the village had their collective sigh of relief, an eccentric man who lived in self-isolation on the outskirts of the village came to talk to Ciela about what happened.
After realizing that she had the Spark, this man, also a planeswalker, asked if he could mentor her. He only told Ciela about the whole planeswalking thing, since he knew it would really freak everyone out, but he made a case for mentoring her in blue-aligned magic, since that was also his specialty. Her family was nervous since a lot of people were kind of creeped out by this guy's habit of disappearing without a trace for long periods of time, but in the end, everyone agreed that it was probably for the best if she studied under this guy.
Her mentor, Whelan, gave her a much wider understanding of blue magic and taught her as much as he could about the nature of planeswalking, the planes he'd been to, and how to deal with being an off-worlder in a strange place. As Ciela's education progressed and they went on longer expeditions together, he came to be like a second father to her. They often traveled to planes like Dominaria and Alara, but Ciela always relished their trips to Ravnica the most. Turns out she's very much a city girl, despite being from a small mountain town.
She spends a lot of time on Ravnica, and even does contract work for the Izzet League so she can use their labs and library on off hours, but she goes back to Zendikar often to visit her family, bring back her aerospace artificing work, trade stories with Whelan, and drink in the powerful mana that exists only on her home plane.
