Gadrick had been patient with the annoying man so far, and he wasn't actually planning to hurt him. But certain phrases should be left unspoken, and the words that escaped the other man's lips were definitely part of one such phrase. In one, swift motion, Gadrick spun around, drawing the hammer from his back, and hit the man in the side. It wasn't a particularly hard blow, but enough to stagger him. Gadrick spoke slowly and harshly. "Who are you and what do you know about Innistrad?"

The Spiritcaller regains his balance, and glares at the man. Channeling mana into summoning spirits to aid him, he brings forth two souls to guard him from further attacks. He straightens his form and regains his composure behind his spectral guardians. Calmed, and with a straight face, he replies in an icy tone, "My name, is Rafn Viste, and I should ask you the same thing."

With a heavy sigh, Gadrick stretched out his arm towards Rafn. Black mana gathered around his hand, forming a demonic rune in his palm. He smiled as roots broke through the ground and formed a solid wall between them. Satisfied with the barricade, he turned away and walked further into the dark alleys. He had no time to fight some arrogant spiritcaller who missed home. "I'll see you later, if I ever feel the need to talk to an annoying moron," he said heartily as he hurried around a corner. He had lost too much time already.

Rafn was helpless as the stranger ran away, and with it, his hopes of finding someone that knew what he was. Running after him was hopeless, he had lost sight of his target and he was too startled in the moment to act. Instead, he sighed and elected to simply visit the library, and ascertain what he could from there. That was of course, until later in the evening when he decided he would to pay a visit to Nivix.

Ciela flipped through a book on composite artifact materials in the library. The library at Nivix Aerie was great, but it always seemed to be missing volumes on basic subjects it ought to have. She'd spent the day doing manned test flights with artifacts some full-time guildmages had been working on. She was glad that she elected to do the flights over the water, and that she was a skilled aeromancer, since all of them failed spectacularly. She was waiting for the wind tunnel labs to clear out back at the guild hall so she could work on her own research. She didn't like doing the gruntwork of Izzet research, especially when the people she worked with didn't really have any concept of safety or quality control, but the tradeoff of getting to use their facilities and being able to disappear whenever she liked made it worth it. Being a contractor was decent money too. She put the book back and started walking towards the exit when she saw an unfamiliar face. He kind of looked Dimir, but on the other hand, he didn't really look Ravnican at all. On which plane had she seen clothes like that before...?

Book after book disappointed him. Rafn found various readings on the history of the plane he found himself inhabiting, as well as the presence of ten 'guilds' which oversaw the governing of the entire plane. He placed a book about the different kind of spirits that inhabited the plane into his bag, thinking he would find it more useful than anyone else here. Through shelf after shelf, Rafn found no mention of multiple planes of existence, or Planeswalkers. In addition to the book on spirits, however, he also found an anatomy book, pertaining to the undead. This too, he allowed himself to take.
Frustrated, the Spiritcaller began making his way out of the library. He thought to himself, I knew there would be nothing here... If the best library on the plane doesn't have what I seek, no place will.
Leaving Airdnaxela, Rafn made his way back to the Gilded Lantern, to plan his next move.
